I don't care if monday's blue.

Today it would appear my body is in full revolt. Yesterday i promised it a BBQ lunch, unfortunately the weather had other ideas and it rained, a lot. So instead i provided it with spaghetti bolognese. Seems this might have been a bad idea as today i have awoken with a sore jaw, the glands in my throat are swollen and i've got some achey joints......great.

Trying to brush your teeth when it hurts to move your mouth is definitely a new experience for me. My plan for today is a pretty simple one:

Hoover
Feel sorry for myself
Watch the goonies and fight club
Wash the pots
Feel sorry for myself some more
Take more painkillers

Luckily im misanthropic by design so don't have to worry about actually talking to people.

To cheer myself up ill be perusing youtube between these activities, highlights are likely to include:

Miss Ann Thrope - My Ruin

Rasputin - Turisas

Pong - Eisenfunk

Thats pretty much me for the day, ill be perusing my favourite blogs and seeing if they can cheer me up anymore.

What i'm currently listening to.

Nachtmahr - Alle lust will ewigkeit

After seeing them yet again tear it up, at INFEST! this time. I've re-discovered my 'not so lost' love for these Austrian EBM nutters.

Bad Religion - The process of belief

There really would be no decent Punk nowadays without these gentlemen. And whilst everyone (rightly so) proclaims Suffer to be their greatest album influence wise, i just can't go very often without digging out this one.

TOOL - Lateralus

Without a doubt the best tool album bar none. Definitely one of my 'desert island disks' i could listen to this every day and still wouldn't get bored. Killer artwork by Alex Gray as usual.

On a side note, check out this video if you haven't already seen it, all credit goes to TOOL for the music and the original uploader for the video itself:

Happy Happy Joy Joy

Yesterday i picked up this bad boy. I've not been this excited about an album since....well the last Combichrist one.

Is this album worth the hype? in one word i would have to say OHGODYES! This is by far the most anticipated Combichrist album, and after the tour de force that was 'Today we are all demons' it had a lot to live up to, and it certainly manages that and much more.

Stand out songs are:

Follow the trail of blood (featuring Brandon Schieppati of Bleeding Through) - Having Brandon do joint vocals on this track along with Andy just equals twice as much awesomeness, there similar yet distinct vocal stylings compliment each other rather than vying for top billing and this lends itself well to possibly being the best track on the album.

Fuckmachine - Does exactly what it says on the tin, and that tin say 'Be Awesome'. This song earned itself a place on my permanent playlist after only one play through.

Never Surrender - The first single from this album, and not a bad choice indeed. I can see this becoming a huge club hit very quickly, it starts as it means to go on, unrelenting and harsh. This is a rallying call for commitment to a cause, a cause you believe in and are willing do something about.
