Sleep is gooooood!

So i went out last night and it was AWESOME!!!  Hopefully in some small part due to my amazing skills at handing out flyer's.....haha. All my request's got played, though i'm sure that's due to being friends with the DJ's more than my ability to convince someone to do something.

I finally rocked up home at like 4-5 in the morning :D went straight to bed and didn't surface until like 3 in the afternoon. Jumped in a quick bath then headed off to a family get together for a 25th wedding anniversary.

Free food = good
Afternoon/Evening with very extended family and a bunch of screaming kids = bad

So all in all in kinda balances out.

The rest of the night will be spent in front of the Xbox and the laptop, need to catch up on the hundred or so podcasts i've let build up whilst i've been revelling in awesome music.

Prepare the world's tiniest violin!!!

I suck dealing with members of the opposite sex who i find attractive. There, i said it! Its out there now, we can all move along to better things.

Some of those better things today include:

Dropping some packing boxes off for my sister
Sorting out the loft (MOAR PROCRASTINATING)
Have a fight with the tax people
Help a mate do some promotion for a club-night he DJ's at
Dance like an idiot at said club-night. haha

Today, better things will be accompanied by the musical stylings of:

Angelspit - Hideous and Perfect

Pendulum - Immersion

Kittie - Funeral for Yesterday

P.S. I'd like to thank you all for your nice comments and at some point ill think of a way to photograph Fang without her doing a runner, just for you David Davidson.

Chores, Chores everywhere...

Lots of stuff to do today that i have been procrastinating over the past few days.

Put the rubbish out
Sort the recycling
Hoover
Do some shopping

And the most 'interesting' one, gotta clean out my spider, Fang. Fang was given to me by a friend as a newly hatched spiderling and we've been awesome ever since. She (i'm assuming she, its quite hard to sex them but the larger abdomen is a good a sign as any) is a False Black Widow, or if you want to get technical, Steatoda grossa.

Quick little link to piccies there.

I think i will accompany this very productive day with some music:

OSC/DIS - The Mad Capsule Markets

Walking With Strangers - The Birthday Massacre

A Violent Emotion - Aesthetic Perfection

BLERGH!!!

Went out last night and got home at some ungodly hour this morning, it was turning light so yeah...

Sat up with a friend for a while chatting about our failures as people (theres alot) and eventually got some sleep. Woke up after maybe 4-5 hours sleep, had a KFC for breakfast (healthy i know) decided to write off the day so have just watched 'MODIFY' again. If anyone hasn't seen it and has some interest in body modification its well worth it.

Gonna curl up on the settee for a bit now and finish reading a couple of books i've been meaning to finish for a while:

Molecules of emotion - Dr.Candace B. Pert
Musicophilia - Oliver Sacks

And depending on how that goes, ill spend the rest of the evening on the Xbox.........goodtimes

Todays post is brought to you by....

It's only a few minutes long, but i highly recommend it. A talk by Derek Sivers filmed at the TED Global 2010. It really got me thinking about things, and i love stuff that has this effect on people.

Rotersand - Merging oceans

Had this song stuck in my head all day today so thought i would share it, it's from the album 'Truth is fanatic'

This song was bouncing round my head whilst i was in line at the bank waiting to pay in a cheque as the self-use machine was bust. I mean come on, who uses cheques anymore?? its all done by bank transfer within a matter of minutes, not 5 bloody working days!! Get with the modern world, for the sake of my sanity.

What i'm currently listening to.

Nachtmahr - Alle lust will ewigkeit

After seeing them yet again tear it up, at INFEST! this time. I've re-discovered my 'not so lost' love for these Austrian EBM nutters.

Bad Religion - The process of belief

There really would be no decent Punk nowadays without these gentlemen. And whilst everyone (rightly so) proclaims Suffer to be their greatest album influence wise, i just can't go very often without digging out this one.

TOOL - Lateralus

Without a doubt the best tool album bar none. Definitely one of my 'desert island disks' i could listen to this every day and still wouldn't get bored. Killer artwork by Alex Gray as usual.

On a side note, check out this video if you haven't already seen it, all credit goes to TOOL for the music and the original uploader for the video itself:

Happy Happy Joy Joy

Yesterday i picked up this bad boy. I've not been this excited about an album since....well the last Combichrist one.

Is this album worth the hype? in one word i would have to say OHGODYES! This is by far the most anticipated Combichrist album, and after the tour de force that was 'Today we are all demons' it had a lot to live up to, and it certainly manages that and much more.

Stand out songs are:

Follow the trail of blood (featuring Brandon Schieppati of Bleeding Through) - Having Brandon do joint vocals on this track along with Andy just equals twice as much awesomeness, there similar yet distinct vocal stylings compliment each other rather than vying for top billing and this lends itself well to possibly being the best track on the album.

Fuckmachine - Does exactly what it says on the tin, and that tin say 'Be Awesome'. This song earned itself a place on my permanent playlist after only one play through.

Never Surrender - The first single from this album, and not a bad choice indeed. I can see this becoming a huge club hit very quickly, it starts as it means to go on, unrelenting and harsh. This is a rallying call for commitment to a cause, a cause you believe in and are willing do something about.
